ST. PAUL’S EPISTLE

Volume 7 - Issue 5 May 2007

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Luke 6:38

Have you made your vacation plans yet? Are you going to be traveling to distant places? Do you make reservations ahead? Will you get your car checked out if you will be traveling by car? Do you have someone who keeps an eye on your home while you re away? Do you make a list of what to take and what needs to be done before you leave?

In your planning do you include your church home? Just as your family home needs to be secured and kept in good condition when you are away, so too does your church home. Whether we have one hundred in worship on a Sunday or only fifty, the bills are the same.

God will care for your needs, shower you with blessings and offer you His guidance wherever you are. He will do this whether you remember Him or not. His love is unending and free. But, God hopes we will return His love and live out that love by regular support of the ministry of His church.

This past month the treasurer’s report indicated that we are $ behind in our giving and that our meager reserves a dwindling as he is forced to take money from saving to pay bills. Summer usually sees a drop in giving. Let’s change that beginning this year. Include God’s house on your vacation planning list. Include money for the weeks you will be away in your offering before you go. Remember our ministry in your prayers even when you are not here.

Have a refreshing summer.

Living Hope
To say that God has entered into our lives is a word of great hope. This means that neither suffering nor evil has the last word. How do we remember that hope during hard times? How do we share that hope with others?
